Rio Carnival Tour
OVERVIEW
Rio Carnival Music Tour 2027
Spend six days in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival 2027, exploring the celebration through its music, neighborhoods and the communities that bring it to life. The experience goes beyond the Sambadrome, connecting the parade to samba schools, Afro-Brazilian history, street celebrations and the everyday cultural life of the city.
From walking through Rio’s historic “Little Africa” to dancing at street blocos with locals, the itinerary connects Carnival’s public spectacle with the histories, rhythms and local traditions behind it. A small group and local hosts make room for both guided context and the spontaneity that is essential to experiencing Carnival in Rio.
Whether you’re exploring Afro-Brazilian heritage, tasting traditional cuisine, or catching live samba in a tucked-away venue, every moment celebrates the rich cultural landscape of Rio and the vibrant spirit of Carnival.
A Celebration with Meaning
Our tours are designed by professional musicians who live the Carnival. The itinerary looks beyond the spectacle to the rehearsals, history and local traditions that give Rio Carnival its meaning.
Traveling in a small group creates more space for conversation with artists, community leaders and local hosts, adding context that is difficult to find through sightseeing alone.

SAMPLE ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Rio & Welcome Dinner
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro and check in to your 4-star hotel in Copacabana or Ipanema. You’ll have time to relax or take a walk along the beach before our traditional Brazilian welcome dinner at a local churrascaria. Meet your hosts, guides, and fellow travelers. Carnival is about connection, and it starts here.
Day 2: Little Africa Tour & Live Music in Rio
After breakfast, dive into Rio’s Afro-Brazilian heritage with a guided walking tour of “Little Africa.” Visit the Afro-Brazilian Museum, Pedra do Sal, and other historic sites. After a local lunch, enjoy free time to rest or explore. That evening, experience Rio’s live music scene at an intimate venue—expect samba, rhythm, and soul.
Day 3: Carnival Immersion & Music Night
Get behind the scenes of the Rio Carnival with a visit to a samba school or Carnival factory. See how the dazzling costumes, floats, and choreographies come to life. In the evening, head to a live music venue chosen by our musician hosts—featuring genres like samba-funk, choro, or samba jazz.
Day 4: Street Bloco Experience & Leisure Time
This morning, we’ll join a local bloco, one of Rio’s legendary street parties. Dance, sing, and celebrate with locals in the heart of Carnival. The rest of the day is yours—relax at the beach, explore Rio, or enjoy some downtime. We’ll share optional recommendations, and the evening is free.
Day 5: Sambadrome Parade Night
Start your day slow—you’ll need the energy! At night, we head to the Sambadrome, where the top samba schools dazzle the crowd. Your grandstand seat is included, or upgrade to the VIP lounge for an even more luxurious experience. This is Carnival at its most spectacular.
Day 6: Departure Day
Sleep in after a night of dancing and drums. Enjoy a final breakfast before hotel checkout and your airport transfer. Want to stay longer? We’re happy to help with custom add-ons or travel plans elsewhere in Brazil.
